At DCX, we believe that specialized, industry-focused training is the key to delivering lasting results for our clients. Our Academies are designed to equip team members with the skills and confidence they need to excel from day one - especially in industries like Roofing and Promo.
Here’s a look at how we build our Academies and what makes them stand out!👇
The academies are built to give team members industry-specific knowledge so they can step into roles with confidence and a reduced need for client-side training. This approach addresses a major client pain point: the lack of time businesses have to train new hires! By providing a solid foundation, we help clients get results faster, something that truly sets DCX apart from traditional outsourcing and BPO companies!
The Learning and Development team here at DCX uses the ADDIE model to develop and build out our academy programs:
Analysis: Assess the educational needs and skills required, partnering with industry experts to understand current trends and demands.
Design: Create a curriculum that aligns with both educational goals and industry requirements, with expert input ensuring relevance.
Development: Develop engaging materials, including course outlines, lectures, and assessments, refined with input from subject matter experts (SMEs).
Implementation: Launch a beta class using instructor-led and e-learning platforms, with experts participating in workshops for a richer experience.
Evaluation: Gather feedback from students, SMEs, and instructors after the beta launch to refine the curriculum and delivery.
Content is developed collaboratively by the L&D team, led by Eric Lomerio (Director of L&D), with support from Senior Learning Officer Ma Theresa Capalad and the academy facilitators. Subject matter experts also play a crucial role: Amy DeLong for Promo related Academies and Kristin Fiala for our Roofing Academy. The team meets regularly to align on content and ensure quality, with all materials approved by the SME before finalization.
Each Academy typically takes about three months to develop. Quality assurance is embedded throughout, with multiple review layers and approvals from SMEs and our team. Beta classes test content in real-world scenarios, and feedback is used for continuous improvement before the official launch.
A standard academy delivers over 200 hours of training in four weeks, again with a curriculum curated by industry experts. Trainees undergo ongoing exams and assessments, supported by dedicated trainers, ensuring they’re ready to “speak the same language” as their clients from day one.
By ensuring our team already has foundational knowledge, we save clients valuable time - especially during busy periods like the storm season in roofing. Clients can trust that DCX team members are prepared to contribute almost immediately, reducing onboarding time and ensuring immediate impact to the client's business.
With the academies that we've been running for a few years now, we have received outstanding feedback from clients and graduates alike. Some of our very first Promo Academy graduates are still with their clients today, proving that the program produces long-term, engaged, and dedicated team members. Graduates of all academies praise the comprehensive, practical training, and the support of facilitators.
